My Makeup: NARS Madly

You might have noticed that this week I’ve tried a few new features on the blog. ‘The Weekend Post’ will be up every Sunday with my lazy-day beauty goings-on and Wednesday will now be the day that I inject a hit of style into this blog. Quite a few of you asked to see more content on events that I am lucky enough to be invited to, so I’ve vowed to lug my camera along in the evenings and bring you the latest pics and goss. One final thing is a weekly dose of ‘My Makeup’. I’m a creature of habit when it comes to what I put on my face, so ‘FOTDS’ are all a bit too regular for me, so I’ll be trying to shake my makeup routine up weekly and sharing the outcome every Friday. Phew, housekeeping out of the way – now on to the good stuff!

Uber simple stuff right? I’ve got 3 foundations/tinted moisturisers on rotation at the moment and the Laura Mercier is what I reach for on lazy days where my skin is looking alright. A haul video is on it’s way but the other day I picked up the By Terry Touche Veloutee highlighting concealer pen and I have to say I have been so impressed with it so far. My Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer gives a much fuller coverage but is also much heavier under the eyes. The By Terry is a liquid form, much like YSL Touche Eclat, but still has good coverage whilst being a lighter consistency. The main point of this post is to do a bit of raving about NARS Madly blush. This is  a product that has been sitting in my ‘possible blog sale foder’ pile for a while, but in a rush the other day I grabbed it and I’m very happy I did. I have been reaching for the Laura Mercier Second Skin Blush in Lush Nectarine recently (post on that here), but if I fancy more of a bronzy peach blush then Madly is perfect. I know when it comes to NARS people always bang on about Orgasm, which is a bush that I really dislike for it’s reddy tone, or Deep Throat, which is a colour that I own but don’t reach for too often; but Madly is definitely one to check out. It does contain a fair amont of shimmer, which is easily removed by a quick tap of the brush, but it’s one of those shades that adds blush, a bit of contour and highlight, all in one. For my lashes and lips I stuck to my old favourites – L’oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara and MAC’s Hue.

Let me know if you’d like to see more weekly ‘My Makeup’ posts and I’d love to hear what you’ve been slapping on your face this week in the comments below!
