My German Mascara Love

IMG_0172 IMG_0127

I seem to have a habit of falling in love with ridiculously hard to source mascaras. There was L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof which was sadly discontinued, then Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara which seems to be experiencing some stocking issues and has become near impossible to find, then there were the Isehan Heroine Make formulas which I love, but picked up from a Japanese beauty store squirrelled away in Little Tokyo in L.A – that’s not exactly an easy repurchase. The next one on my list of long-distance mascara loves is the Catrice Glam & Doll Volume Waterproof Mascara.

Now I can imagine that the German beauty lovers out there will be whooping at this, as over there this is readily available in drugstores, however for the rest of us it’s not so easy to sniff out. I’ve got to say big love to the babe of a reader who thrust this into my hands at our meet-up recently in Cologne – thank you! You were so right, this stuff is so up my street and is probably the nearest thing to L’Oreal’s Telescopic Waterproof that I’ve found yet (though I know I say that every time). It’s lengthening, volumising and goes on thick with just one coat. It’s not a natural look buy any means, but damn does this stuff hold a curl or what? Incredible. It’s taking me back to my big lash days. Apologies for the fact that I’ll be using this in every makeup tutorial till it dries up. German guys and gals, you know what to do…
