My Christmas Party Dress

Party Dress

When it comes to Christmas parties I’m usually the one all dressed in black, refusing alcohol because I’ve had one glass of wine and it’s made me feel ‘wobbly’ and reciting all the words and trills to Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’. I know, quite the party starter. This year I did the same – it was last night and thanks to the fact I didn’t even have one glass of wine this year I’m feeling very chirpy – but instead of my usual black uniform I wore sequins. Thousands of them. In fact the dress was heavy, like a chainmail slip-on of sparkly, festive goodness. And it wasn’t black.

The dress in question was from ASOS and if you’re in need of something that will make you feel a million dollars in time for NYE then this is your guy. The fit is snug but allows you to conceal a major food baby under there, it’s cut low at the back so it’s time to go free and the arms are just past elbow – my favourite and what I find to be the most flattering cut. Pair it with bare legs and stilettos for high glamour or do as I did and stick on some tights and boots to make it a bit more casual. Though can a sequin dress ever be casual? Nah, I think not. I don’t think I’ve ever felt as sassy as I did in my sequin dress *clicks fingers, does twirl, walks away like Beyoncè*. It’ll be coming out again next year…
