Makeup Shrine

I mentioned in my last post that when I arrived back from holidays I was greeted with a room that somewhat resembled a building site. While I had been away, my Dad was suddenly bitten by the DIY bug and my room was his first target! Now I’m not complaining as I was kicked out of my original bedroom when I moved away for Uni, and since my return I have been moved into my sister’s old room which looks somewhat like a yellow-painted cardboard box – so I am very grateful for it’s impending transformation. To cut a long story short, all the storage space in my room has been scrapped so my beauty goodies now have a new home on the floor. To make it look a little more glamourous I have created myself a shrine-like set up.
You like? At first it felt a bit strange, but now I quite like my ‘hippy-style’ construction. It sit on my leopard print pillows every morning and enjoy rooting through my drawers to see what I what to slap on my face for that day. Plus I’ve really got into burning my favourite candle in the world again – Jelly Belly Toasted Marshmallow, this smells GORGE and fills my room with it’s sweet, sweet aromas for hours after I’ve finished burning it! I highly recommend if you enjoy sickly scents 😉
Although I do love my makeup shrine, I am definitely on the lookout for a vanity! If any of you have any recommendations then do let me know, I’m looking for a white wood, vintage looking one – but nothing too big as my room is the side of a cardboard box remember 😉
