Contours, Capsules & Cutting My Hair

Five Things

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. All edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away…

1. The Best Contour Palette Yet. Now you know I love my Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder, but I’ve found its creamy counterpart and I bloody love it. It’s the Anastasia Cream Contour Kit in Fair and it’s beautiful (in particular the bottom left colour, Fawn). The textures are moveable and creamy, but not oily and they’re easy to blend but set into place after a while. It’s just so nice to have a cream contour on hand for when you don’t want to add any powder to your face at all. Fancy a full review? Let me know…

2. A Capsule Wardrobe Tour. A few weekends back whilst Mark and I were waiting for our friends to arrive I made the most of his filming skills and coerced him into a filming a Capsule Wardrobe Tour with me. Of course you guys know what’s inside already, but I thought you might like to see how I store and organise it all and see what are my favourite, favourite pieces. It will be up on Wednesday if you fancy a nose around.

3. Getting There With My Hair. I must admit that I did not feel my most recent hair cut at all. It was layer-less, a little bit too short and made me feel like a mushroom. In fact I think it ended my love affair with short-ish hair and with it now having grown a little I’m feeling like letting it get to a more collarbone, mid-length kinda thing. I don’t think I’ll ever get to Uni Anna lengths again, but for now I’m enjoying having a bit more hair on my head.

4. A Brand-New BeautyBlender. My last BeautyBlender had a good run and probably lasted around a year-ish – maybe a bit less – but with it looking all stained and a little torn it was time to upgrade and man does a fresh one feel good. I never thought I’d be a full on BeautyBlender convert and even though I still find it a bit time consuming when it comes to applying foundation, for doing that final bit of blending and bouncing in concealer, contour and practically any cream product, it’s a dream.

5. I’m A Pillow Addict. And it’s all H&M Home’s fault. Some stores have a bit of a pants selection, but the online range is fab and I’m having a great time putting the finishing touches to our living room with some new cushion covers and throws. Off course anything palm/banana leaf print is right up my street (check here and here) so I may have picked up a few for the bedroom too…
