Foundation Discoveries & Desk-side Beauty Bumf

Five Things

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:

1. Marble Backgrounds. Last week I got a new computer and naturally the first thing I did on it (after Migration Assistant of course which is the best darn thing ever) was create myself a new marble themed background. A few of you asked for it, so click here if you’d like to download it for yourselves.

2. More Foundation Discoveries. I appear to be on a bit of a journey of foundation discovery. First it was the Illasmasqua Skin Base and now I’ve fallen in love with the Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation in Pearl. It’s light in texture, but pretty full in coverage and it’s one of those formulas that makes you go ‘huh – how does it do that?’ when you apply it. It’s ridiculously pricey though, so it requires some further testing before I shout about it from the rooftops. I’ll keep you updated on this one.

3. The Beauty Storage Tour is ON! This week I finally got round to filming a little look around my new beauty storage, which has been a much-requested thing for me to do. 9am GMT, over here on Sunday. Set your alarms peeps!

4. Butter Bean Salad. I’ve mentioned before that salad really isn’t my thing, but recently I’ve been trying to ease myself into the idea by trying out some new recipes. My favourite one that I’ve come across is Deliciously Ella’s Pesto Butter Bean Salad. There’s a bit of prep work to the whole thing, but it keeps well in the fridge for the next day and I like to add a bit of quinoa into the mix to beef it out a bit. Mark even liked it and wolfed it down for lunch at the weekend so it’s thumbs up all round.

5. My Desk-side Beauty Bumf. Despite working from home for almost three years, it wasn’t until recently that I had a proper desk to spend my days at; a place where I could really spread out. Now I have a desk that holds more than a laptop and notepad, I’m filling it up slowly and of course my first port of call was beauty. So far in my corner I have The White Company Wild Mint, Peppermint & White Tea Candle – relaxation in wick there – By Terry Baume de Rose and the Pixi by Petra Hydrating Milky Mist, which is all kinds of awesome. This desk ain’t gonna stay spacious for long.
