Deborah Lippmann Does Spring

Deborah Lippmann has been the fastest climber in my lacquer loving charts of recent times. Colours that will have you eyeing up your tips every minute, in smooth-applying formulas that last well and leave things looking über glossy (oh and who can forget the glitters?) – the only bummer is the brush. Long and thin it works well for professional appliers, but for a cack-handed girl like me I like the wide-set brushes that Essie and Rimmel offer, but that’s my only niggle as Deborah’s latest drop has well and truly cemented her place in my heart. Spring Reveries – a line-up of six pastels with subtle tweaks that basically make me wish I had six pairs of hands so I could wear them all at the same time.

There’s an ice cream shop quality about them and together they create the perfect spring nail wardrobe. I’ve tried and tested three of the shades; Spring Buds – a pistachio-esque green that pulls lime-y when swatched, Tip Toe Through the Tulips – cute named colour that gives a creamy peach wash and Build Me Up Buttercup – which is just bloomin’ beautiful. I’ve tried yellows before on my nails, but they’ve always come off looking a tad too much like a fungal infection for me, but with just the right balance of lemon and white it’s about as perfect as they come. There’s also La Vie En Rose which is a golden-flecked pink, Blue Orchid which I predict will be this year’s Essie Bikini So Teeny and Flowers In Her Hair – I’ve already placed an order for this one – a bold mint green, Google swatches. Actually it’s probably best you don’t…
