Bronzed Cheeks, Pink Lips

Ah just because there was a little Youtube milestone hit, you didn’t think I’d weasel out of the weekly ‘My Makeup’ post did ya? Of course not! And you know what even more reason to have a chat about what has been gracing my face this week as I’ve been rather experimental for once and given a fair amount of new things a go. So lets get down to it…

For my base there are quite a few new products that I’ve been giving a go. As a primer I’ve been massaging in a small amount of the Burberry Luminous Fluid Base*. This doesn’t offer too much in terms adding longevity to your makeup but it does leave a radiant look to the skin, somewhere in between the look of a normal illuminating primer and the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector. I tweeted earlier in the week about how I think I’ve become a tinted moisturiser girl – I know, shocker – as wearing foundation has recently become quite a rarity for me but one that I have enjoyed wearing is the Burberry Luminous Fluid Foundation in No5*. I been applying this with my fingers and find it blends in beautifully to give a low-coverage and dewy finish to the skin. Easily one of the most natural looking foundations I’ve tried and it definitely hovers over the tinted moisturiser/foundation boundary slightly which is why I’ve been enjoying wearing it so much. For concealer a small amount of the By Terry Touche Veloutee in 3 has been doing the trick. And to finish off the face I’ve been reaching for my newest bronzer, the Clarins Bronzing Duo in 03 Dark*. This is a gorgeous matte, honey-toned bronzer that adds a warm glow to the cheeks when applied with a MAC 187 Brush. I’ve been filling in my brows with MAC Espresso Eyeshadow (although I did purchase a new brow pencil today) and with my eyes I have been dusting on a small amount of the MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow with a MAC 224 Brush – my new way to apply eyeshadow. It distributes the perfect amount to give the eyes a soft glimmer, leaving a very subtle yet somewhat defined look. A quick coat of the L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara finishes of the eyes. For the lips I’ve found a great new combo; the MAC Lip Pencil in In Synch which I posted about earlier this week (post here), with a dousing of Laura Mercier’s Lip Glacé in Orange Tulip over the top. Perfect pinky peach pout goodness.

I’ve been such an experimental little thing this week, you would be so proud!. I even considered throwing on some coloured eyeshadow the other day, although that idea was swiftly abandoned! But hey, baby steps. I’ve also been testing out the Origins A Perfect World BB Cream*, which I’m really liking on first impressions, I’m sure that will feature in new week’s ‘My Makeup’ post (which will be bought to you from Florida!). What makeup have you been loving this week?
