Boots Botanics Budget Bubbles

Even a long relaxing soak in the bath these days turns into a beauty blogging research excursion. While wallowing in the depths of my tub the other day, I yelled to the boy to grab a pen and note down that the latest addition to my bathtime bulk stocks would make the perfect candidate for ‘The Budget Buy’ category – Boots Botanics Rejuvenating Bath Elixir in Rebalance. I originally purchased it for the Christmas Gift Guide videos but after maxing out on pressies for the female members of my family I decided to keep it as a little treat for myself and was delightfully surprised after snubbing my more pricey salts, soaks and oils for it the other night…

Bubble baths may not be the most sophisticated bathtime treat of them all but I’m a sucker for a tub full of bubbles and I will admit, I was a little taken with the name – elixir? Yep, I’m in. It conjured up big ideas of an oil/foam hybrid but in reality it’s just a very, very nice smelling bubbly treat. Sort of spicey, sort of citrusy – think the Aromatherapy Associates Relax scents but about a tenth of the price. Apparently it contains Quilaja extract which helps to cleanse and calm (any idea what that is? No, neither do I), it’s not particularly moisturising or jazzy in any other way, but I did note an audible ‘ahhhh’ when I slid into the tub.

The Boots Botanics Rejuvenating Bath Elixir in Rebalance will set you back £4.99 which isn’t the most budget bathtime treat of them all, but it falls under my £10 cap I’m setting for this feature and a small trickle with fill your bath your bubbles galore and delightful spa-like scent. It’s also currently part of a 3 for 2 offer so leg it to Boots pronto. If slightly spicy scents aren’t your thing, then there is a ‘Relieving’ scent also in the range which caters for more sleepy smell lovers; it may also have to be added to my bathside stash. Are you ready? Steady? Soak.
