Because It’s Friday and You Want to Buy Something

IMG_3130

There is something about Friday that just gives off this ‘screw it’ vibe, in a good way, you know? The more ‘lets see if we still have that paddling pool in the garage from when we were kids and fill it up and sit in it’ end of the screw it spectrum (my Mum reminded me the other day that me and my sister did this about two years ago and then sent pictures of ourselves in said paddling pool to my parents while they were at work). For example I’m currently sitting here perusing the ‘Bathroom Organisation’ section of John Lewis and will no doubt be purchasing a freestanding cupboard to house my ridiculous number of bathroom bound beauty supplies that I don’t need but really want. You know the feeling. So I’ve cobbled together a collection of recent purchases, all under £25 that you may wish to consider if you’ve got that Friday feeling spendy feeling…

Alphabet Bags ‘You Look Lovely Today’ Pouch because who doesn’t want a daily pep up from their makeup bag? How cute is this? Roomy, washable and just the right length for even my über long makeup brushes, this has become my go-to storage for my travelling makeup stash.

Maybelline Dream Sun Bronzing Powder – because sometimes it’s nice to have options aside from NARS Laguna. I actually picked up the ‘Blonde’ version of this over the ‘Brunette’ compact as the shaded stripes seemed a bit more honey-toned and so far I’m loving it. Not too much shimmer and packaged in a way that’s easy to customise your colour.

Josie Maran Argan Colour Stick in Coralbecause it might come in handy come the morning after Friday night drinks. A creamy cheek product that may just be the most perfect formula I’ve come across. Easy to apply, blend and amp-up, the shade has a Tarte Tipsy quality about it in the perking up stakes.

River Island Strappy Cami Topbecause it goes with everything. Jeans and heels for the evening or trainers and denim shorts by the day River Islands twist on a simple cami can go from AM to PM and everything in between. I’m tempted to expand my colour options…

Allure Magazinebecause you’ll read it from cover to cover. My favourite magazine, which annoyingly is a little tough to source in the UK but is well worth scouting out. I did have a subscription (linked above), but it was a little slow for impatient ol’ me so I pick mine up in person from Selfridges or Wardour News on Wardour Street, though I have also been it stocked in bigger WHSmiths.

Nudestix Eye Pencils and Magnetic Eye Colour Pencilbecause who doesn’t love a good sweep smokey eye product? Nudestix have all eye options covered. The Eye Pencils line beautiful, though don’t bring them up to lid height, that’s where the Magnetic Eye Colours come in as they do not budge. Twilight is my fave.
