A Week in Outfits

I thought I’d try something different last week and snap a picture everyday of what garb I’d managed to slip into in my sleepy state each morning. Surprisingly I remembered to document each outfit and I’ve learnt that I creepily cradle my phone in the exact same way in each picture, but without even trying I managed to not reach for my default black jeans/black top combination five days in row and actually put together some ensembles that I’m pretty chuffed with. Here are the deats:

MONDAYWhistles Stripped Top // Topshop Black Leigh Jeans // Whistles Satchel // Nike 5.0 Free Runs

A day mostly spend in the car, unpacking and doing a shedload of washing after a weekend in Brighton with the fam, so something comfortable, casual and with an elasticated waistband after three days of my Mum feeding me up was required. I have to say I’ve fallen in love with this bag – it’s just the right size. Perfect for when you don’t want to carry everything and the kitchen sink around in your usual tote.

TUESDAY – ASOS Chunky Knit // ASOS Printed Skirt // Primark Tights // ASH Jalouse Boots // Sophie Hulme Tote Bag

After taking my driving test in the outfit from the day before, complete with a ‘greasy hair, I don’t care’ pineapple and not a slick of makeup, I got fancy in the evening and wore a skirt – I know, madness – to shoot my lovely friend Jennie as the next Beauty Bag candidate before going out for dinner and eating my bodyweight in pasta with her. Baggy tops are the key to sporting a bit of leg without feeling too overdone I reckon and paired with the comfiest boots ever, makes for a good combo come day or night.

WEDNESDAY – ASOS Black Kimono Top // Topshop Black Leighs // ZARA Heeled Sandals // Whistles Coral Clutch

My day was spent glued to my laptop in a rather fetching get-up of jogging bottoms and a men’s hoodie, but when the evening rolled around Mark and I headed out on a goodbye date night. Here I did opt for an all-black ensemble, but I added a hint of colour with a clutch and height with some heels which are surprisingly comfortable. I’m telling you now; I’ll be getting a lot of wear out of these when the summer rocks around.

THURSDAY – COS Black Top // Topshop Printed Leigh Jeans // Nike 5.0 Free Runs // Whistles Ring // MUJI Suitcase

Ciao bella for Thursday was the day that I headed to Milan. Plane comfort for me is of the highest importance when it comes to travelling so I kept things light and stretchy. The Nikes came in very handy when Lily and I realised that we had seven minutes to get through security and to the gate and the MUJI suitcase is just everything. Spacey and secure with lots of pockets to keep possessions organised, I may have struggled to fit it in my cars tiny boot, but the cool swively wheels made all the huffing and puffing worth it.

FRIDAYTopshop Black Cami // Zara White Blazer // Topshop Printed Leigh Jeans // Nike 5.0 Free Runs // Whistles Satchel

Well Milan turned out to be a bit (/a lot) warmer than I’d expected and packed for, so Friday saw me crack out my one and only vest top that I’d stuffed in my suitcase and rock my new and oh-so-crisp blazer for the first time. I may have boiled slightly in the jeans, but they do managed to make any outfit look a bit more summery and make a change from my usual (almost threadbare) black pair. And although my trainers didn’t really go – my feet thanked me after a trip to the Duomo/Sephora/Rinascente and the rest.
