A Green DD Cream: My Musings

Green People

I firstly must head up this post with the admission that having attended a Chocolate Festival this past weekend and with the purchase and consumption of a rather large chunk of diary fudge; a raging, red, angry, headless-spot has made an appearance on the side of my nose (the worst, aside from the ones that feel like a bruise or those that crop up in weird crevasses of the face – the nostril, the ear, the corner of your mouth – ouch). So therefore, I’m currently reaching for something with a slightly higher coverage and dabbing on the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage every two minutes. The above picture was taken pre-pimple last week – #Memories (it’s also not the most detailed – apologies! – I’ll pop up a better picture soon, promise).

It’s easy to scoff each time a new B.B, C.C, D.D, Z.Z cream etc etc comes to market, but often I find myself falling in love with the product inside and wondering why there can’t be a new category of skincare called ‘Skin Tints That Make You Look Glowy Not Greasy’, or S.T.T.M.Y.L.G.N.G’s for short. I know – I really have a knack for branding. It’s hard to distinguish the functions and differences between them all, but more often than not inside is a light textured product with a hint of tint, that evens everything out, gives a fresh finish and is enough on its own when a good skin day is occurring. I love ’em. My most recent find is the Green People Age Defy+ Tinted DD Moisturiser SPF 15 in Light and it basically fits the description given above. Need I say anymore?

Recently, I’ve been going through the Estée Lauder Revitalising Supreme Global Anti-Aging CC Cream at a rate of knots. I seem to be knocking out a bottle every few months and slathering it on every AM as a pre-makeup base that lulls me into the belief that I’m having an ‘ok’ skin day most days and Green People’s offering does exactly the same – but  comes in two different shades which is pretty helpful. I’d also say it has a tad more coverage, leaning more to a tinted moisturiser finish, which is always a good thing in my books. The D.D actually stands for daily defence – a nod to its SPF 15 – which is slightly higher than Lauder’s offering which has SPF 10. My conclusion is that they’re both fab and it’s always nice to welcome a new ‘my skin but better’ formula to the family, (they’re secretly my favourite product to suss out).

As it’s brand spanking new it hasn’t yet made to FeelUnique with the rest of the stock, but is avaialable to purchase from the Green People Website for £34.95 in Light or Medium, or you can always pick up their Tester Bundle for 95p – genius.

So green peeps, you given Green People a go? Anything else I need to add to my shopping list?
