The Miracle Spot Remover

Spots are a pain in the ass. But prepare to be excited ladies, as I have found an aaaaaaamazing product. Now you know with these things it isn’t always a cure everyone miracle, but for me this worked a treat, so I am here to sing it’s praises. In the past whenever a pimple reared it’s ugly head I reached for Lush’s Grease Lightning, it worked well – reduced the redness, was gentle on my skin and consistently using this every day would make a spot go away in around 2 days. However after a rather heavy facial at an RMK counter my skin went into a slight spasm and gave me one of those awful little whiteheads right in the crease of the nose – god those ones irritate me! So I decided to try out a new little baby, from one of my favourite skincare brands, Origins…
Origins Super Spot Remover

I exfoliated off the top of the whitehead with the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (gross I know), and then added a dab of this to the affected area. The next morning the spot has gone, there was still a tiny bit of redness there but nothing that couldn’t be covered with a bit of my trusty Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer. Less than 8 hours and had disappeared! How fantastic is that? The Origins Super Spot Remover definitely contains a more potent mix of ingredients than Lush’s spot treatment offering which favours more natural extracts from Rosemary, Aloe Vera and Lavender. Origins have packed this with Salicylic Acid, Caffeine and Red Algae and I can tell you – it don’t half sting when you apply it! But hey, it’s definitely worth it. In terms of cost, the Lush definitely wins at £5.65 for 45g, whereas the Origins is £12 for just 10ml – however with both of these you need the tiniest amount each time, so they will both last you an age. I am so impressed with this, and you have to see it in the flesh as it is seriously the cutest little bottle ever + it’s uber travel friendly! What do you ladies you to remove those pesky spots? Given this a go?
Much Love,
Vivianna x

I tend to use Clean&Clear Quick Clear spot treatment gel, which also stings a hell of a lot – I tend to take this as reassurance that it’s doing something 😉 I don’t really know if it’s the gel that’s working or my cleanser, but I use it anyway – it can’t do much harm! Might consider trying the Lush one, sounds pretty good!

  • Hayley

Hi Vivianna. It says on the Origins website that this product is new but i remember buying this many years ago and it was great then. It looks like just the same thing but repackaged and maybe a slightly different name. Glad you found it 🙂 x

    • I’m glad I found it too! xx

  • Joy

This sounds brilliant! I’m definitely adding this to my Christmas wishlist! 🙂 xx

  • Now you’ve raved about it I really want to try it!

    • Haha Holly you should – it’s fab! xx

  • salutsophie.

This sounds amazing! Most of the instant spot treatment products I’ve tried in the past have turned out to be rubbish, so I’m always sceptical about spending money on products that’ll go to waste. At the moment my skin seems to REALLY hate me and I’ve had mega breakouts, so I’ve cracked out the heavy duty Duac with Benozyl Peroxide in the hopes that it’ll blast the spots off my face. Once my skin has calmed down I’d definitely consider giving this a try!

    • Yes it’s definitely worth popping on the shopping list xx

  • tina

I got this a few weeks ago and am loving it, i do think its best for non-hormonal acne though.

  • Qewtbee

    sounds interesting….

    • Hope it works for you as well as it does for me xx

Oooh I love this product, I’ve purchased it a couple of times before and it really does work wonders. I agree it stings like mad!!
    Kathryn xx

    • Pleased to hear it works for you too! xx

  • Boscy

Hooray! Actually cannot wait to try this as my skin has been having a bit of a ‘moment’ lately with regard to those annoying spots that sit under the skin and never come to a ‘head’. Do you reckon this would work on those? Definitely going to give this a go (after pay day). xx

    http://boscy.blogspot.com

    • Hey hun! I couldn’t say for sure, as I haven’t used it on those type of spots – might be worth testing it out in store? xx

    • Lucy

The origins ‘Out of Trouble’ 10 minute mask is the bomb for these; it’s great as a regular treatment as it’s clay based, but also reduces inflammation.
Sticking with the Sanctuary’s version of cleanse and polish has really helped too, good luck with the pesky buggers!

i really want to try this. i dont mind spots that come to a head but i hate it when you have that big red lump that you just know is going to erupt the day you need to go out :s xx

  • i’ve tired everything under the sun and this is next on my list!

  • Lori_nugent

Origins is amazing but BURNSSS. I’m a new blogger would love if you checked out my blog http://utterly-butterly-utterly-me.blogspot.com/

  • That’s quite amazing! I’ve never really found something for my skin though. Its great that it works for you =]

  • I’m a huge fan of Origins and anything that helps get rid of spots is defo worth giving a go x

  • I just googled this and the bottles coming up on my search are blue and this is green! Or am I colour blind? I really want to try this! Right now I use Dermalogica’s overnight gel which works like dream but is uber expensive and this seems so cheap and cheerful in comparison! I’m about to run out of the dermalogica one so I am definitely going to be buying this next and giving it a shot! thanks!

Ps: congratulations on you cosmo blog award win!

    • Perhaps they have reformulated it? And thank you hun xx

  • Jaya Azeneth

I found this review really helpful as i am at a loss at the moment for which type of zapper to use! I find shuemura products good for keeping my skin clean and mostly clear but i still get the off gathering 🙁 I think i will give the Origins one a whirl :-D

    http://msjaya1.blogspot.com/

    • Good to hear about the Su Uemura, might need to give that a go xx

  • wow that is amazing!! :O so going to buy this

    thanks hun!! <3

This is on my ‘to purchase’ list as I am a pretty big Origin’s fan & in need of a spot treatment. For the occasional pimple I do this & add a dab of neosporin before bed. It is seriously like magic & there is no scabbing. http://www.luckymag.com/blogs/luckyrightnow/2010/10/dr-jessica-wu-on-how-to-pop-a

Origin’s Purifying tonic is very nice as well. LOVE IT!

    • Definitely worth looking into 🙂 xx

  • Lydiacff

I ran out of my Clinique acne solutions, I am going to give a try. Thanks for the recommendation.
I really like your youtube channel by the way!!

My first venture into Origins! I’ve used Grease Lightning before and I wasn’t wowed but I bought this today and I’m hoping it’ll be everything you say it is! I adore the look of Origins as a brand, and I’m definitely going to look into more of their products! I’ve got a little Clarisonic Mia savings fund going- I want to gift it to myself as a Christmas present! Making the transition from crazy-about-makeup to crazy-about-skincare, and your videos are SO helpful!

  • Sophie

I have spot prone skin so I’m definitely going to be buying this!
I currently have one right on the end of my nose, typical me!
    Thankyou Vivianna!
