Jouer Blushing Beauty Collection

When the Jouer Blushing Beauty Collection landed on my doorstep I had to take 10 minutes out of my day just to stare at it. If there was a prize for the most swooniest piece of eye candy in my stash then hands down this would come up top. An interlocking palette that takes me back to my Lego playing days, housing the best of Jouer’s offerings: their Sheer Matte Powder and Bronzer Duo, Lip Gloss in Cherish, Powder Eyeshadow Duo in Chocolat and Peach, Tint in Whisper and Highlighter in Feather. It’s already sold out once on Cult Beauty and has weaselled its way onto many the beauty blog. So Estée loved it, Amelia wasn’t wowed and after finally snapping out of my staring session and getting some use out of it, I sit somewhere in the middle. P&C table time:

PROS: As with any smorgasbord-esque palette it’s a nice way to be served your first taste of the brand and a big props to the highlighter and tint that coupled up have that whole ‘lit from within’ thing down. It’s also got to be noted that the dinky size is perfect for travel and the selection of products means all that needs to be added to into the mix to paint on a daily face is foundation, concealer and mascara. And it reminds me of Lego – that’s always a pro, right?

CONS: As previously mentioned, it’s tiny – good for in transit reasons but you don’t get a lot of product for your dollar. A consequence of this means that some of them are a bit difficult to eek out – the bronzer in particular requires some careful brush negotiation and the creams can only be scooped out by fingers. Meh inclusions? The powder; a product that when applied makes no difference to my complexion even under magnifying mirror critique.

The good, the bad, but there’s no ugly. A pretty palette but it’s a non-essential even in my loved-up eyes. If you’re still itching for it, it’s £45 from Cult Beauty and currently back in stock – run Forest, run. But it’s a little Jouer selection I’m glad to have given a go and another shade of the Tint is next on the list. Honeysuckle has my name written all over it…
