Weekend Face

The surprise trip to Nottingham this past weekend was a massive success. After a night of partying on the Friday (and dancing around like a madwoman to that ‘WTF’ song), me and my old Uni friends chilled out with some serious XFactor time on Saturday, before I trekked back down south on Sunday – A-mazing! And I have to say that for once I packed extremely light for my weekend away! I took my usual Benefit Gabbi bag and filled it with the minimum amount of makeup that was acceptable for a beauty blogger 😉 And that meant that I wore the same makeup 3 days in a row – shocking I know!

I have been changing up my foundation recently, the Chanel Mat Lumieré will always be a favourite, along with the Guerlain Lingerie De Peau but I have been leaning towards a new coverage and so dug out MAC Face + Body out of the archives. I have the shade N3 which is probably a little dark for my skintone at the moment, but as it is so sheer it just adds the perfect amount of colour to my face. And it doesn’t contain SPF so is great for night-times where that dreaded flash photography will no doubt be used. For concealing my awful under eye circle, I have been reaching for the fantastic Bobbi Brown Corrector and Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer combination that I would highly recommend for anyone suffering with tired eyes too! As I’ve said before I haven’t been using powder recently, but I did bring my MAC Mineralise Skinfinish Natural with me just so I could pop a dusting over my face before I entered the sweaty club 😉 I’m also having an ‘anti-blusher’ phase, which makes me feel a bit sick when I think of my blusher collection, whoops! So on the cheeks I just attempted to chisel in some cheekbones all weekend with the Sleek Face Contour Kit, I know this is a really over-hyped product, but rightly so! It adds a nice dimension to the face and stops your base looking so flat.

When it comes to eyes I have been layering on some of the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre cream eyeshadow in Emerviellé that I have been raving about. I have found the best way to apply it is definitely by patting it on gently with my fingers. Of course for ultimate eyelash perfection, I curled my lashes with the Shu Uemura curlers and then layered on a few coats of the L’oreal Telescopic Waterproof mascara. There is a new product that I have been using on my brows actually which I have yet to show you, but I’m sure you have already seen on numerous other blogs! It is the HD Brow Set* which came in September’s GlossyBox – it is fantastic! I have been using one of the shades to fill in the ends of my brows, I will pop up a full review soon if you fancy it? For lips I kept it simple with the YSL Rouge Volupte in #30 Fabourg Peach – which is just the perfect everyday colour for me. A slightly nuded peach, which is natural looking and leaves a glossy sheen – beaut!

Wow that was a bit of a makeup ramble! But I really just wanted to take a pretty picture of some makeup 😉 Hope everybody had a lovely weekend! If any of you guys have any posts or videos that you would like me to do then let me know, I promise reviews on so many things I forget, so give my a gentle reminder and I’ll be on it!
