Two New Gym Wear Purchases

Gymwear

I must say that I’m really looking forward to getting down and writing February’s serving of the Fitness Files. 2016 has started in a really positive way health and exercise-wise. I’ve cut down dramatically on sugar and despite the odd craving and headache here and there have managed to resist digging into Ben & Jerry’s on a thrice daily basis (my bad!) and now just stick to a once a week fix if I fancy it and I weirdly look forward to going to the gym. This has never happened before. Am I feeling alright? Maybe I should go to the Doctors…

But in all seriousness all this gym-going has brought on the need for some new kit. I have washing coming out of my ears and on more than one occasion I’ve ended up dragging some questionable leggings out of the washing basket because I had nothing else to wear. So instead of doing the logical thing and doing my washing more frequently, I instead purchased some new workout gear. Fancy having a look?

Let’s talk about the more practical purchase first. I didn’t actually own a pair of black leggings. Madness I know. I’d be eyeing up the Varley Sofia Black Compression Tights for yonks but couldn’t find the justification, until the aforementioned sweaty leggings episode. I love these tights and have a few patterned versions too. I know they fit well, don’t give me camel toe (hooray!), are long enough and just look good as they hug in all the right places. They also sit pretty high on the waist so you’re never worried that you’re exposing your pants when you squat and there’s none of that muffin-top business. A good investment I say.

Now in no way did I need these trainers. But I saw them on Millie Mackintosh’s Instagram and then I couldn’t stop thinking about them. In my defence I do only have one pair of trainers that I wear to the gym, so it’s alway nice to have options, right? The kicks in question are the Nike Free TR 5 Flyknit’s in Black/Wolf Grey/White. They’re monochrome trainer perfection. They feel like slippers and are great for HIIT stuff and weights at the gym (FYI – I wouldn’t suggest wearing them for running because there’s just not enough support in them for that). Pair them with the above and a comfy sports bra and lightweight top and there you have yourself a chic-ass and practical gym uniform.
