The Non-Black Top

I don’t like to shock too much; hence while this top is yellow, it’s also purchased from Whistles. Phew, I know – I had you panicking for a minute there. It’s been a long time since this sunny hue made an appearance in my wardrobe. I think the last time I sported such a shade was when I was in my ‘wanting to be the sixth member of Steps’ phase and owned an acid yellow handkerchief style crop top. So yes, it’s been a while. But while perusing the Whistles section of ASOS – an activity I do approximately three times a day – I stumbled across the Lori Sheer Panel Top and in a moment of madness clicked purchase. A pastel yellow tee with sheer cutaways might seem like an out of comfort zone purchase for me but surprisingly I’ve found myself tugging it off its hanger a fair amount, despite having to currently wear four layers over it for warmth.

As with all Whistles garments the cut is flattering, piece well-made, fabric high quality and the sheerness is nothing to fear – a nude bandeau does the job. I’m dubbing this the top to see me into Spring. Now I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t secretly crossing my fingers that they do a version in black…
