The MAC Eyeliner That Everyone Told Me I Needed.

IMG_2722

When I issued a request a month or so ago for the perfect warm brown eyeliner I was inundated with one unanimous answer – MAC Eye Kohl in Teddy. It’s almost like I could sense your persuasive glares through the screen. You lot are an enabling bunch, let me tell you. So last week I traipsed into a MAC and did what I had to do and now the cult favourite Teddy is in my hands, I’m not letting it go. You guys were so ridiculously on point…

I must issue a little disclaimer here that my grasp in the language of eye liner is pretty basic. I’m a newbie and so don’t have much to compare it to, but I have tried a handful and I’m telling you they are no competition for Teddy. First let’s address the colour. It’s like rusty chocolate – not the most sexiest of descriptions, but you get the jist – there’s a redness to it, but it’s not overpowering, it just makes the green in my eyes look even more witchy and brings a warmth to the complexion. It’s one of those ‘softer than a black, more exciting that a straight-up brown’ ones.

As with all liners, I’ve so far only managed to work my way up to lash line use, though I’ve had a google and the majority say it’s a good’un for the waterline too. I blend a stroke or two on the outer corners of the top and bottom of my eye, smudge a little with my finger, wait for it to set and then buddy up with a heavy handed application of mascara. It stays put, doesn’t move around throughout the day and can double up as a bronzed-up base for other colours all over the lid. I’m in love. Who knows, maybe this will be the one to push me over the edge and into water lining?

So THANK YOU! Anyone more makeup must-haves that I’m lacking in? Seeing as you were so right last time it seems rude not to ask…
