The Knits I Wear All The Darn Time

I’m a big fan of the humble ol’ knitted jumper. They’re practical, warm and paired with the right things they can make you feel super chic. I feel like that’s a sentence that my Mum would say as she loves a cardigan and last time I counted had 26 in her wardrobe in a variety of colours (she obviously hasn’t had a read of my capsule wardrobe posts), but it’s true. I live in the knitted section of my wardrobe and find a way to wear one in most occasions be it formal or casual. A black roll-neck can work for a black-tie event, right? So today I thought I’d show you three out of my autumn selection that have turned out to be some of my most worn pieces so far:

ASOS WHITE Grey Crew Neck Jumper in Cashmere. I LOVE THIS JUMPER. In fact I love it so much that I have two. One in this grey and another in burgundy. ASOS do them every year and sell out of them ridiculously quickly (I suspect because they’re not bad value for a cashmere knit), but this year I managed to nab them when they made a brief appearance on the site and thank gawd because they’re beautiful. All soft and cuddly; we’re talking a true boyfriend fit here, like a real ‘I may have stolen this from my Boyfriend’s pile of washing’ slouch. I love wearing it with jeans, heeled boots and calling it a day.

REISS Aurelia Night Navy Lace-Shoulder Jumper. This is my Mum’s favourite, which I feel makes this one a safe bet for any of you out there that have a ‘Meet the Parents’ situation coming up. It’s tighter fitting than the other two but still roomy enough to hide a Sunday roast under and it’s slightly different to the norm in that there’s some lace detailing on the shoulder which makes this one a nice one to dress up too. There’s something about it that feels very sophisticated so perhaps a good one for workwear purposes as well? I think we have a little multi-tasker on our hands here.

REISS Rachelle Grey Marl Merino Wool Jumper. I think this must be my most-worn of the three. I have a bit of a love affair with v-neck tops. I have no idea why because I’m extremely flat chested so it’s definitely not a boob-related thing, but I just think they’re a flattering cut and show a nice amount of skin without you having to freeze your nips off. I feel like if I was a cool girl on Instagram I’d wear this with knee-high cashmere socks and super tanned legs in bed on a sleepy Sunday. Instead I wear it with boyfriend fit or black jeans. Standard.
