Oh hello there! Bet you weren’t expecting to see me here, but given that we’ve reached the half way marker in the year I thought it was time I checked in and sprawled out the contents of my daily makeup bag for you to have a rummage through. There are some golden oldies in there, but some new additions too including a brow gel that I won’t stop waxing lyrical about to anyone who will listen for long enough and a lip product that I really should have picked up a long, long time ago…

I’d say out of seven days of the week, for five I reach for CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation. I use B10 and B20 and have my own little mixing station going on every morning depending on what my tanning situation the previous night was. Sometimes the Perfection Lumiére Velvet formula comes in to play too depending on how greasy proceedings are, incase I need to matte it up a bit. Concealer-wise I’ve fallen in love with the Make Up For Ever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette in No.02. Bags, blemishes, the lot, this gets it done and I find that the far left shade has dark circle cover-up down and the second one in blurs away breakouts. On a day to day basis powder isn’t always necessary, but if I’m filming a video then I loose count of how many times I brush it on; MAC’s Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in Medium sorts me out for that and stops my greasy cheek crease situation. Seeing as the sunny days are now making an albeit occasional appearance I’ve fallen back in love with bronzer and for me NARS Laguna will forever be my go-to and actually for blush I’ve been revisiting an old favourite too. Laura Mercier’s Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarinewho remembers that one?

The aforementioned brow gel comes from Benefit and is their new-ish Gimme Brow formula, which when I asked around on Twitter what was the deal with it the general census came back with rave after rave. And I can see why. It adds subtle definition whilst calming my big brow ways negating the need for a pencil/setter combo. In terms of shadow I’ve recently formed a very close relationship with MAC Eyeshadow in Sable. There’s just something about it that gives off that moody, ‘I woke up and my makeup looked like this vibe’ and looking like you made a bit of effort at the same time. A brown with a nod of purple running through it I sweep it all over and leave it at that. Aside from my usual tiny smudge of brown kohl in the outer corners (Laura Mercier Long Wear Creme Eye Pencil in Espresso is my current fave), I have been rocking a bit of a cat flick from time to time thanks to another newbie from BenefitThey’re Real Push-Up Liner. It’s a tough one to describe, but the way that the applicator disposes of the cream to powder formula is all kinds of special and means that even a liner noob like myself can conjure up some kind of flick. Expect a full post with the deats soon. Then for mascara it’s been a toss up between the L’Oreal Miss Manga Waterproof Mascara when I want more of a natural flutter and their Shocking Extensions Waterproof Mascara when I want some serious oomph.

Lips is where things start to get exciting. Tanya Burr’s Lipgloss in Picnic in the Park has got its fair share of lip time in recent weeks or if I want something pinker I’ve been reaching for the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick which hangs around for hours. Seriously. But my favourite discovery of all is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 which I first saw on Zara, then Amelia, then Lily and just had to pick up for myself. A ridiculously hardy red that feels like you’ve got nothing on the lips. I’m seriously impressed. It was part of a recent Sephora haul which I plan on doing a bit of a show and tell video with soon, so keep your peepers out for that.

But that’s it until next month and trust me, July’s Beauty Bag gal is a cracker…
