Being the homebody that I am, the whole ‘cosy winter evening’ thing is right up my street. The loungewear, the candles, the log burner that Mark spends the whole evening tending to whilst I spend my whole evening nagging him to stop poking around and ‘come and watch the bleedin’ TV’.  It’s all very romantic, right? Add in some festive spirit with the light glow of the lights from the Christmas tree and some kind of programme where Mary Berry is making Mince Pies (you seen my Mum’s recipe here?), and it’s basically my version of heaven.

So today I thought I’d show you what my evenings have looked like recently; marshmallow toasting and all. Yes, I take this whole cosy thing very seriously. There’s a bit of everything from a warming pasta dish to my current skincare routine and the faux fur throw that’s possibly my favourite homeware purchase ever. There are also three Eucerin products that have been heaping on the hydration which is just what my snakeskin-like limbs and dry lips have been calling out for. Here are the deats…

Eucerin AtoControl Bath & Shower Oil. I do love a good shower oil, especially in the winter months. This stuff can be added to the bath too, but I just use it like a shower gel for my daily rinse and slather it on until it emulsifies. When I get out of the shower (a.k.a the worst 10 seconds of my day – SO COLD!), I pat myself down and am always surprised by how moisturising this formula is. My skin is cleansed and any dry areas soothed. As soft as a baby’s behind I tell you.

Eucerin Dry Skin Intensive Hand Cream 5% Urea. One thing that I’ve trying to get into a bit of a routine with is hand cream. I’ve been keeping this on my bedside table and applying it before bed. My hands are so smooth the next morning and I’m finding that my cuticles are looking less raggedy too. Peeps with Hand Eczema and Xerosis it’s worth giving this one a go as it has been tested on people with dry skin conditions. It also contains Urea and Lactate to help provide intense and long-lasting moisture.

Eucerin Dry Skin Intensive Lip Balm. Mark is the lip balm King and this passed his rigorous testing with flying colours. He was so jealous of my tube that I had to go out and get him his own which he now too applies every evening before bed. The formula is thick and hydrating and adds a soft shine to the lips without being too greasy. Evening primrose comes to the aid of the lip’s natural protective barrier and liquorice extract reduces redness and calms irritation. It does what it says on the tin.

Quick warning that I must throw in: This video will make you feel EXTREMELY SLEEPY. And make you want to buy a bag of marshmallows on the way home. Time to get toasting…
