My Weekend Uniform

Weekend Uniform

In an ideal world I’d quite like to spend the whole weekend – indoors or outdoors – in my pyjamas. Comfy, cosy and oh so practical (there’s a reason why I write about makeup not fashion and my love for PJ’s over any other genre of clothing is probably the main contributor to that). Unfortunately it is not yet socially acceptable to wear my stripy elasticated cotton bottoms out further than the local corner shop to pick up breakfast supplies so I’ve been snapping away my non-sleepwear Sunday outfits for the past few weekends and I thought that today I’d share my three go-to ensembles for various levels of weekend dressing…

MY SUNDAY BEST: Topshop Black T-Shirt // Topshop Light Wash Leigh Jeans // ASH Jalouse Boots // Sophie Hulme Bag

This is my ‘out for dinner/seeing the parents so I need to look presentable’ go-to. The tee is one I’ve had for years, nice fitting and in a fabric that warrants it as a slightly dressy pick, but the jeans are a newer purchase in a lighter wash than I usually go for (not that the picture picks that up) which makes the whole thing look a bit less drab. Boots and bag – standard.

MY SUPER CASUAL LOOK: Topshop Grey T-Shirt // Topshop Hallie Denim Shorts // Whistles Bag // Birkenstock Arizona Sandals

The comfiest of the three, this combo can also double up as PJ wear that’s perfect for a cosying up on the bed and watching a box set activity. And I have to say that this three quarter-length sleeved top is going to be part of my daily uniform in the cooler months. I may have to go and pick up another colour (most probably black). I’m also well aware that in about a years time I will look back at this picture and think ‘Anna what the hell were you doing wearing those monstrosities on your feet?’, but right now they’re just too comfortable for me to care.

MY ‘IN THE MIDDLE’ LOOK: & Other Stories Striped Top // Topshop Black Jeans // Topshop Skater Slip-On Shoes // Whistles Bag // Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Always Red

Not too casual, not too dressy. In recent weeks I have developed very strong feelings for this stripe top. Hooray! Finally a pattern that doesn’t include black that I really do like. Paired with jeans and a red lip there’s something very parred back but put together about the whole thing. I’m also in love with these shoes. I just have to remember to lug around a whole pack of blister plasters  with me. Don’t you just love breaking in shoes?

All done? Right, now back to my PJ’s I go…
