My makeup this week has been simple – a light layer of Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser in Glow, a dab of Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Medium, the Laura Mercier Eye Brow Pencil in Warm Brunette through my brows, L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara, a touch of Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Peach Whisper on my apples (still haven’t managed to put that blush down) and then whatever lip product I feel like that day. Most of the week I’ve been reaching for a product that I hunted high and low for in the US – Revlon’s new Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm.
A nourishing balm with a hint of stain in stick form – of course people are going to draw comparisons to the cult favourite Clinique Chubby Sticks. I’ve never given those a go, but I have to say I’ve been really impressed by the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains so far. Firstly they come in a good range of colours, some nudes, darks, pinks – they’ve got it covered. It’s also ridiculous easy to apply and cleverly twists up so no sharpening is needed. I love this shade Charm, it’s right up my street. A creamy nuded peach, it’s probably my perfect everyday shade. In terms of their balm claim I have to give them a B+; not the most moisturising product in the world but not as drying as their Lip Butters which I wasn’t really a fan of. And they do leave quite a stain on the lips. The stain that’s left once the balm wears away is a pinky peach, much darker than it appears when you first put it on but I like it nonetheless. To keep the peachy sheen topped up it’s a reapply every hour kinda job, but the stain left on your lips hangs around for a while longer. So all round a thumbs up from me!
When these will be hitting UK counters exactly I cannot be too sure, but knowing Revlon and how long they made us wait for their Lip Butters we could be waiting a while. Although British Beauty Blogger did note that these will be £7.99 when they’re released which I think is pretty reasonable for such a product. Will you be keeping an eye out for these?
