Handpicked Media Event: Shu Uemura, Kiehls & Biotherm

Part two of my ‘2 Events in 1 Night Extravaganza’ (see part one here) was held by the lovely lot at Handpicked Media who hosted an evening showcasing the newest releases from Shu Uemura, Kiehls and Biotherm.

Held at the swanky Vanilla bar in London, where everything is furnished in shades of cream, cream and cream. The nightlights shone pink and lilac over the gorgeous treats they had laid out for us. Representatives sat behind tables crammed with thier latest products and we were invited to pull up a chair and have a chat with them about what new things they had to offer. The canapes were so delish – mini cheeseburgers, fish and chips and teeny chicken kebabs – it’s as if they knew I was coming! I definitely had my fair share!

First up we took at seat at the Shu Uemura table, as you can see from the picture above, the products looked simply stunning. They introduced us to their award-winning oil cleanser range which will soon be released in limited edition packaging designed by Mamechiqo. Their next big launch is the release of the reformulated Rouge Unlimited lipstick line, which were the products that I think everyone was most excited by, who doesn’t love a nice lippie? These were designed to provide bold lip colours in a supremely moisturising formula. I recieved the shade BG922* and it could not be more up my street, review coming soon! Next we moved onto Biotherm, which are a brand that I hadn’t too much about before the event. They had some fresh smelling mattifying products coming out and are releasing their first man’s eye gel – their High Recharge Eye Shot. Maybe one to tell the boyfriends about? Then finally we had a quick chat with the guys at Kiehls. They have released a limited edition version of their cult body moisturiser Creme de Corps with Pearl and Daisy Lowe who have created a one-off label for Mothers Day. For every bottle sold exclusively at Selfridges or freestanding Kiehls stores, Kiehls will donate £2 of the proceeds to Great Ormond Street Children’s Charity. They’ve also just released their Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution which helps to lighten dark spots on the face, hands and body. I was also eyeing up their lipbalms so I think a trip to Kiehls is on the cards very soon.

Overall it was a lovely event, gorgeous setting, great company, scrummy food and lots of pretty new products that will on their way to stores very soon. I’d recommend taking a look at the Shu Uemura reformulated Rouge Unlimited Range and the Kiehls Creme de Corps!
