Cookies and Candleglow

Five Things

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. All edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away…

1. Madeleine’s Cookies. The minute I saw Madeleine post this Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe, I started to work out whether I had all the ingredients already – CHECK – a couple of seconds later I was making them. They taste incredible. Even Mark likes them and he usually rolls his eyes at my slightly healthier sweet treat alternatives that I cook up.

2. A Soothing Spray. Ahhhh January! Ahhhh emails! One spritz of the Therapie Restore Aura Spray makes me feel a little bit more chill and a little less terrified of my inbox.

3. The Dreamiest Sounding Foundation EVER. Have you heard the buzz about the new Laura Mercier Candleglow Soft Luminous Foundation? If not check out Jane’s post. Not only has it got the swooniest name ever, but the reviews from those who’ve got a pre-release preview are saying that it’s a good’un. I’m excited for this one.

4. Those NARS Eyeshadow Beauts. I know I mentioned the NARS Pro Palette in Wednesday’s post, but it’s the Duo Eyeshadow in Isolde that’s really caught my eye. All warm-toned and flattering, even if you just decide to throw on one of the colours; I see myself hitting pan one day on this bad boy.

5. My Fitness Pal. I always thought this app was a bit of a faff whenever I’ve tried to use it before, but my personal trainer suggested I try tracking a week in my diet to see what my nutritional intake looked like (side note: it’s much easier to use online, than it is on the app). Unsurprisingly my tracking uncovered the fact that I eat food that’s high in fat and sugar (YUM) but it’s been interesting to look at what the biggest culprits are and to see that I need alter my choices when it comes to snacking if I want to be a little bit kinder to my belly. (Side note: I don’t use it to calorie out, more to analyse the nutritional values of the foods I’m eating – it’s interesting stuff!)
