Dark Mornings, Coconut Primers & Dreamy Cheek Palettes

Five Things

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:

1. The Best Named Nail Polish Ever? I’m a sucker for a taupe polish and I’ve really been enjoying wearing OPI’s Berlin There Done That over the past few weeks. Not only does it paint on well – you can be pretty slap-dash and it still looks good – I love the colour because it’s not too dark, nor does it look washed out on my pale pinkies.

2. Dreamy Cheek Palettes. Aren’t cheek palettes just having a real moment right now? Though I have to say that I think it’s the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit that takes the top spot for me, even just for the name. Yes it’s horrendous value for money, but the actual colours and formulas mean that this is something that I could quite happily use every single day for the rest of my makeup wearing life (though given the gram-age it wouldn’t last that long – DOH!).

3. Ridiculously Expensive Face Oils. Now this might just be the most outrageously pricey item that I’ve ever mentioned round these parts, but I thought I’d drop it in incase any of us ever win the lottery. CONGRATS IF YOU DO! It’s the Kypris Beauty Elixir I and it’s like smoothing liquid gold all over your face; everything glows/bank accounts cry.

4. A Mirror For Dark Mornings. When the AM is to dim for you to apply makeup without worrying that you’ve gone a bit heavy handed with bronzer and may resemble an Orangutan when you get to work, the Simplehuman Sensor Mirror is what you need. They’re not cheap but they are genius in that they provide a ring of daylight mimicking light for you to do your makeup in which means you can actually see what you’re doing at 6am.

5. The Coconut Primer. I keep seeing the Marc Jacobs Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer popping up everywhere and with good reviews to boot I don’t think I’ll be able to keep away from this for too long. It sounds like it’s smoothing and hydrating and all nice and dewy on the skin – my favourite. Has anyone tried it? Do I need it? Enable me people
