Fashion Week Favourites

Double Photo TestDouble Photo TestFashion Week has wrapped for the season; with an air-kiss goodbye in Paris yesterday it marked the end of a chocker month of a non-stop fashion feed. Now I stick pretty rigidly to the beauty side of things mainly due to the fact that the most adventurous it gets in my wardrobe is a patterned pair of trousers that I pull out for flying or popping to pick up milk from the shop but I quite like the element of backstage beauty. Seeing what artists are creating what looks for what shows, getting a preview of next season’s launches in action and experiencing cheekbone envy with every single goddamn model. So I thought I’d give you a rundown of my favourite beauty bits that I spotted many the Instagram picture of…

For hair it had to be the slightly polished, yet obviously beach babe inspired curls at Topshop Unique. The makeup was stunning, sure, but the hair? I will desperately be coaxing my locks into curls and loading up the mousse come next summer to try and get that. With a self shoved messy parting and a bit of tonging it was the epitome of undone glam.

I thought I’d throw my fashion favourite in there two – good ol’ Victoria Beckham – and it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that her husband attended her show with their adorable daughter on his lap. Nothing at all. Her SS14 collection was like COS meets Wimbledon and I liked it. You don’t even want to know what I’d do for the crisp white shirt that VB sneaked out in at the end of the show.

When a picture of a model from backstage at Alexander Wang show cropped up on my Instagram with the caption stating that all they were wearing was concealer and a bit of a lip balm I think I exerted an outward sigh. They. Looked. Incredible. Just a swipe of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, brushed-up brows, curled lashes and a touch of blotted-out gloss on the lips. Beautifully simple.

At the Burberry show it was all about three things: Cara, Harry and yellow nails. Six shades were lacquered on to the models tips – the collection of which will be released next January as their Spring polish launch. There were pretty lilacs, greens and taupes, but the one that caught my eye – that yellow. Oh my. Creamy pastel goodness.

Feeling inspired and all I thought I’d mash my favourites together (VB white shirt unfortunately not included) and sport them as a ‘My Makeup’ post tomorrow. Concealer, lip balm, wavy hair and yellow nails – what a mix. Keep your beady eyes out for that.
