Current Blusher Love

I tried to think of some ‘witty’ title for this post but with no avail. ‘Current Blusher Love’ get’s right to the point doesn’t it πŸ˜‰ If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will know that I go through phases with blusher; sometimes I can’t get enough, other times I prefer to ditch the blush pile on the bronzer (NARS Laguna is my bronzing weapon of choice). But recently I have been re-embracing my sizeable blush collection. Ones like MAC Melba and Benefit Coralista will always be at the top of the pile, but my new love is a blush that has been hanging around for a while, over a year actually (naughty) – it’s MAC Instant Chic.

According to my blogging archives (don’t you just love looking back and seeing how awful your pictures used to be – cringe), I purchased this blusher all the way back in May 2010 from the MAC Pret A Papier collection. A Sheertone formulation, it is a shimmer-free, light powder that applies a soft colour that is easy to build up. The colour itself is not a million miles away from the usual tones that I go for – a peach with a hint of pink. I know it is cruel to rave about a long-gone limited edition product but you can get the same sort of colour from MAC Melba, although it lacks Instant Chic’s slightly rosy tones. I apply this to the apples of my cheeks with my MAC 188 brush and it gives a pretty brightening and blushing effect.

Oooo you got to love a messy hair photo πŸ˜‰ Prior to this my hair had been clumped on top of my head in a rather attractive ‘pineapple’ like appearance – noice! I just love the effect of this blush. It’s just the perfect – ‘my cheeks but better colour’ lol! Not too red based, and not too unnatural looking – perfecto! What is your go-to blush? If you fancy more of a peachy-toned cheek, MAC Melba comes highly recommended, that is probably my favourite blush of all time. Right that is more than enough rambling about blush for today πŸ™‚

I managed to get this in a blog sale not long ago, so pleased with it! It is the perfect amount of peach with pink, a colour which suits lots of different skin tones, seeing as I’m unfortunately a LOT paler than you, and it really suits me πŸ™‚ would recommend people to get it if they can! x

    • Lucky you getting it in a blog sale – it’s a lovely colour! xx

This looks lovely- too bad its LE. My favorite blush for the moment is Tarte’s Exposed, but I also have been loving NYX’s cream blush in Boho Chic. My all time favorite, however, is probably Tarte’s Tipsy.

    • Oooooo I really want to try Tartes Tipsy!! xx

      • Anonymous

Try it out- I bet you would love it πŸ™‚

  • Melba is my favorite blush of all  time (and first MAC product i bought!) . Sadly Gurus on Youtube don’t  talk much  about this blush.
I’m in love atm with Rose Gold by Sleek. I got it few weeks ago and I’ve been using since then. xx

  • Amy

It looks really nice on you – gives such a pretty glow. That’s the best!

  • a999baby

i love the picture, you look amazing πŸ˜€ xx

  • You look so gorgeous Anna xxx

  • That looks nice, shame it’s a LE. My go-to blush is MAC Mocha, or if I want something a bit brighter NARS Amour. I try to stay away from glitter and shimmer because I live in a sunny country and sparkles look silly when the daylight hits them.

    • ooooo thanks for the recommendations xx

  • mj_estel

This looks lovely!! Very natural but with a nice pop of colour!! What a shame it’s LE.
My go-to blush is Nars Gina although my favourite one is Nars Exhibit A, it looks gorgeous if applied with a very light hand. I strongly recommend it to you now that you have joined the red-lips team!

    • Thank you hun! ooo thanks for the recommendations xx

  • Kerrie McAuley

Too Face have actually got a great blusher, it looks like an orange highlighter but its just because it is so pigmented! You can use it on your lips and cheeks and its lovely, looks quite natural if you don’t apply too much but then if your feeling a bit daring you can go all out! Plus its quite cheap, LOVE the bargains! LOL :)

    • Ooooo thanks for the recommendation – will have to check that out! xx

  • Jessica Walker

I need to expand my MAC blush collection and I’ve seen so many people raving about Melba. I think i’m definitely going to have to make a purchase. Recently, I’ve been loving Peachykeen and Peaches (ones pink, ones more peachy, depending on what mood i’m in!). NARS Laguna Bronzer is also my staple bronzer!! xxxx

    • ohhh great to hear from someone else who loves NARS Laguna too! xx

  • Jessica Walker

P.s. Fave blush of all time is Sleeks Rose Gold. SO beautiful and only about fiver! xxxx

    • Oooo I have never tried that before, thank you for the recommendation! xx

  • tishka

it’s gorgeous and suits you great!

  • princesselfy

You know I love Melba – this does look rather similar! And very gorgeous! Bed head hair is awesome! :-p

  • that’s such a lovely colour and suits you, very pretty x

  • GeorgiaLouiseN

    That is so pretty πŸ™‚

  • how strange, we have a scar in the exact same place! Mines from chicken pox, how about you? love the blog.

    • Yes mine is from Chicken Pox too! xx
