Cheek Cello Shots

A round of shots on Estée Lauder anyone? For cheeks of course. These punchy tubes, dubbed the Pure Colour Cheek Rush Cello Shots for Cheeks*, have just launched onto counters promising a buildable wash of gel textured colour. Hot Fuse – a red/coral hybrid that gives an outdoorsy flush to my naturally ruddy complexion and Pose Rose – a cooler than cool toned pink are in my possession and I’m impressed. Pumped onto the back of my hand, dotted and blended onto each cheek gives a healthy dose of colour without looking too cray cray. Now don’t be fooled, these are sheer but you have to work quickly, take it one cheek at a time, or else you end up with darker stain where you first applied it. Been there, done that, got the weird pink patch. Texture aside, the other reason my for my interest in these is the similarity between them and the Josie Maran Watercolour Cheek Gelée’s. A barely there wash of colour delivered in water-like form *raises eyebrow*. They’re not exact dupes, but the finished product looks near enough for me.

At £24 from Selfridges they don’t come cheap but for blusher lovers who fancy a summer suitable texture or yearners of the Josie Maran Watercolour Cheek Gelée’s this may be  worth a swatch or two. And hey, I’m always down for a (cheek) shot.
