Candles, Cakes and Must-Watch Tutorials

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:

1) Aromatherapy Associates Candle in Relax. Though not in my usual candle scent comfort zone, this new-ish release from A.A is gorgeous. Myrrh and West Indian Bay mix to create a spa-like blend that isn’t the most punchy of scents but slowly wafts over you when you leave the room and return. A good one for living spaces, bedrooms and bathrooms. Yep I have different candles for each.

2) Minimalistbaker.com. My new favourite cooking crush. Sometimes healthy, sometimes not, but always easy to follow and simple recipes from a husband and wife duo. Next on my ‘to-make’ list are their Vegan Peanut Butter Pretzel Truffles.

3) Ciaté Nail Lab. How cool does this look? A one-stop mani station that has got you covered whatever your lacquer mood. From tools to polishes, glitters to mixing bottles – there’s nothing nail-related that this kit doesn’t include. Now I for one definitely do not have any more room in the varnish inn, but if you or a mate are nail colour newbies or just all-round addicts then you’d better start making space in the corner of your room for this now.

4) The Lisa Eldridge tutorial that every women needs to watch. I’m majorly late on this one, but one evening this week I got back up to speed with my YouTube sub box and once again Lisa Eldridge delivered with an easy-to-follow and execute tutorial that could be cracked out for any occasion. I’m guessing the vast majority of you lot have already had your peepers on it, but if you’ve not yet managed to find a viewing slot I suggest dropping all tools now and pressing play.

5) Benefit Bigger than BB Big Easy Complexion Perfector. On paper this doesn’t seem like my kind of launch – mattifying and geared towards blemish-prone complexions – but after a road test I’ve become rather fond of it. Think the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint, but easier to colour match yourself on counter. It’s not going to make its official appearance till April, but expect to see a full-blown review of this bad boy very soon.
