Birthday Tea + Birthday Pressies!

It was my Birthday on Wednesday, and I am now officially 22! Thank you so much for all of your lovely birthday greetings on Twitter, you guys truly are all babes πŸ™‚ From what I have learnt so far in my 2 days of being 22 is that it is a strange old age, I guess I now am officially classed as an ‘adult’ (shudders), and I also received 2 candles for my birthday which I think an appreciation of only comes with old age πŸ˜‰ To celebrate the day itself I had the day off from work and trundled into town with the boyfriend for some Tea Room fun (yes you read that right, tea is fun!) and birthday monies spending.

Instead of forking out for some posh tea in some overpriced hotel, we decided to plump for something a little more bohemian and ended up in a 1930’s Parisian-style Tea Room in the heart of Brighton’s cosmopolitan Kemp Town area, called Metrodeco Tea. We both ordered Cream Tea’s (YUM), which to my delight came with 2 scones! 2! Overjoyed wasn’t the word πŸ˜‰ However not being a tea lover, I went for a rhubarb and vanilla infusion which was actually quite tasty. The decor was extremely unique and when we were seated at a table with leopard-print upholstered chairs I couldn’t hide my smile πŸ™‚

Right, enough about tea – I know what you guys want to see – THE MAKEUP! Well, I’m sorry to disappoint, but this birthday was quite sparse on the makeup front compared to previous years. I got a few bits for my bedroom, essentials that I needed, but I have cobbled together a few of my fave pressies to show you, and as you will see there is one makeup splurge.

Yes, yes, that is a Chanel Illusion D’Ombre you see! After all the hyping I have seen on blogs I caved and purchased the shade Emerveillé with a giftcard that the boy brought me (clever boy). It’s the most gorgeous peachy gold shade, and leaves a pretty natural sheen on the lids. I wore this for the first time today and it’s love – I can actually see this overtaking MAC All That Glitters as my most worn everyday shadow. I will pop up a post on it soon. And after all the talk about candles I thought I had to show you one of them – it’s a Yankee Candle! I’ve wanted one of these for ages, it was another present from the boy (clever, clever boy), and the scent – Strawberry Buttercream – is uber yummy! I have been burning this since I got it and it has made my room smell like a heavenly bakery πŸ™‚ I’m sure you have spotted it already, but my amazing sister got me another bottle of my all time favourite perfume which I have recently ran out of – Paco Rabannes Lady Million, have I mentioned it to you before? Oh really, I have? I’ll shut up about it then πŸ˜‰

So there you have the beauty birthday present round-up, and tomorrow I’m going to show you what fashion-y bits I brought with my birthday monies! I’m sooooo excited to show you them πŸ™‚ Has anybody else got that Friday feeling?
