A Day In The Life: Fitness & Food

…all with a little Lululemon Haul thrown in

You know what’s really fun to do when you feel like your head is full of goo and a big elephant has got its feet clamped over your nose so that you can’t breathe? Vlog. Honestly, it’s amazing – you should try it sometime. Of course I’m guessing you can sense the sarcasm here and as you watch the video below please note my general weariness as on the particular day that I decided would be perfect to vlog, I woke up feeling pretty rough. That’s the beauty of keeping it real though, so I persisted, left my sick bed of empty Emergen-C sachets and tissues, and ploughed on with the fitness, food and general wellbeing themed vlog I’d planned. Oh the irony…

You know what? I actually felt a little bit better for it and I think it’s a more interesting way to share my current fitness routines and goals with you than just sitting down and rambling for 10 minutes. What do you think? Along with taking you to the gym with me and showing you a HIIT circuit routine (Paul was feeling nice that day), I also did a mini Lululemon haul and try-on with some new bits that I’ve picked up  and I showed you what I ate for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It’s basically a bit of a ‘Workout Routine/Lululemon haul/What I Eat in a Day’ all wrapped up into one.

Speaking of goals, I’m actually really happy with where I’m at fitness-wise at the moment. I haven’t travelled much in the past few months and being at home and in a routine is something that I find conducive to visiting the gym regularly and not eating a whole pack of Jaffa Cakes because I’m starving and I’m in a rush. I have a bit more time to plan things out and I’ve been eating lots of home-cooked food (note to self: I must learn to bake Jaffa Cakes). Mark has even been coming to the gym with me a couple of times a week and we both really want to take up Hot Yoga too. Any tips or things I should know before we step into the sweat chamber? I’ve put it off for months because I’m worried I will faint/fart/do both, but hey – it would make a good blog post, right?

P.S) In this post I’m wearing the Lululemon Fast As Light Muscle Tank in Tiger Space, Lululemon Align Pants and I’m making a quick post-workout protein smoothie, all you need is a: a cup of whatever milk you fancy, a handful of raspberries and one scoop of the Welleco The Super Elixir Nourishing Protein in Vanilla.

  • That is really keeping it real. Honestly, I would have watched the Vlog if you had stayed in bed all day and watched Netflix as well, but this way was even more entertaining.

I LOVED today’s video. First, because I generally love your vlogs and second because it was so real and honest.
I suggest at least a once a month video of this type please!!!

PS. I need that crazy back Lululemon top!!!

  • That smoothie looks so yummy. I’m obsessed with making them now I’ve got my Nutri Bullet! x

Done the Hot Yoga thing and my advice is 1. wear as little as possible even if you think you look odd. shorty leggings and a bra top is what I wear. 2. bring 2 towels one to go on your yoga mat and one to wipe up body sweat-that one can be smaller. 3. water, water, water. 4. go easy, breathe, and don’t worry if you can’t get the poses.

  • I enjoyed watching this one, Anna 🙂 And I definitely think you should try Hot Yoga. It is INTENSE, but you feel amazing when it’s all said and done.

  • Yessss! I love all of your fitness content, especially in videos. You really do help keep me motivated! Thank you for always sharing, Anna!

Oh Anna – I have a bone to pick with you. The Align pants: You raved, and raved, and raved about them….and I caved! I bought a pair of the black Align crops this summer and… I can’t go back! I have since bought navy crops and am now stalking my budget to plan out when I can buy the full lengths as well! Literally no other leggings in my closet have seen the light of day since!

I remember when you said you were getting into the gym this time last year and you have kept at it, go you! I could smash a whole pack of Jaffa Cakes right now. You need one of those yards of jaffa cakes in your life! Loved that grey work out top in your video – beaut!

  • Ohh, can’t wait to settle down to watch this later – somehow this sounds like a refreshing approach to ‘a day in the life’ considering you were feeling unwell on the day of filming. If anything, it will motivate me to not eat pizza for dinner and watch a million episodes of OITNB!

Sidenote: I’m one of those weird food bloggers who have actually made jaffa cakes and if you were looking for a recipe, here’s one – honestly they are a lot easier than you might think!

  • Oh what a fun video to watch this was! More please 🙂 All your food just looks so GOOD! Healthy, but good! As for the workout wear, I looooove racer back tops.

Great video Anna!! You really have motivated me for the day

  • I’m torn between which protein powder to try for the first time, The super elixir or warrior blend?
Warrior blend is just so much cheaper, but taste wise which one do you prefer??

    Thanks!

  • Great post! Are all of your workouts based in the gym? Do you do any running or at home workouts? If so I would love it if you could recommend some! http://onlinestylist.net

  • Ooo! That smoothie looked good!! 🙂

That smoothie looks gorgeous – as do your photos. Starting back at the gym is always so difficult and something i’m currently trying to battle when all i really want to do it be horizontal and eat chocolate – damn the christmas aisles!
